Behind The Scenes Of Wedding Planning | Jubilee Weddings and Events

The life of a wedding planner may seem glamorous on the outside looking in, but many do not see behind the scenes. Don’t get me wrong, it IS a glamorous and wonderful business to be a part of, but there’s a lot that can be stressful and sometimes overwhelming!

On today’s blog post, I’ll be discussing a few things that we do behind the scenes that some may never notice! We hope this shines a light on your wedding planner in the future.

  1. Meetings on meetings When you hire a planner, if you go with a full service package, they’ll most likely take care of the appointments and meetings with vendors. This may seem like an easy task, but did you know that we sometimes go back and forth between your vendors over 5 times before settling on a time and date? Especially with the pandemic, scheduling appointments hasn’t been as easy as you’d think!

  2. Selections When you go into a design appointment, did you know that your planner is usually the one who selects a few pieces with your designer, for you to look at? We want these meetings to be efficient. Sometimes your coordinator may not hit the nail on the head, but at least it’s a start!

  3. Emails on emails Do you know how many emails we receive as wedding planners? Side note - these points are not for us to complain, because again, our job is amazing - it’s truly to show couples that our job is more than just showing up on the day! Even if we are the day of coordinator - things aren’t that simple. Anyways, back to the emails! This is where organization and time management is so important. We have to make sure that all emails are being responded to in a timely manner, and we must organize them to ensure that there isn’t anything being overlooked!

  4. Day of madness On the day of your wedding, things may seem like they’re going smoothly, which they probably are - but that’s because your day of coordinator is taking the reigns and making sure that their couple doesn’t know that the caterer showed up late, or that the flowers aren’t what they ordered… (yes that has happened!) We don’t want you to know that things aren’t going the way you’d hoped. The extra stress isn’t necessary!

We hope these points show that your wedding planner truly goes above and beyond for you and your significant other! We love our jobs, and we want to make sure that you’re getting the best service possible.

Cheers to a new month, and cheers to spring wedding season, that is right around the corner.
